when you are helping someone, and the betrayal was for their own good?

or when the betrayal actually ended up be an omission of honesty in the search of finding the good?

in other words, if the police were to come to your home and asked for your child just for questioning in a burglary, if you turned in your child is that a permissible more forgivable offense, because you were setting the right example, or betrayal of the worst kind? what if you were helping to find a long lost friend and in the process found out some info and didn't reveal your source, is that a forgivable omission of betrayal?

or is there no such "forgivable" betrayal?

why?

  1. A betrayal to me is only forgivable the first time round,   the second time he was booted outa my life..........11an a half months later i still miss him so much.......But i would never give him a third chance........x

Sorry didnt mean to waffle on....lol

  2. Ok I'll try to give you an answer although the question is kind of odd...

this is what i see you saying: "Can you forgive someone if they betrayed you?"

The answer depends on the personality of the individuals involved. But yes everything is forgivable...

  3. The betrayed will rarely see the betrayal as "for their own good". However, doing something that will hinder or hurt someone in the short term is beneficial if all will work out in the long term.

  4. whenever it is

  5. "Betrayal" is in the eye of the beholder.  Follow your inner voice and pray, then be sure of the answer.  When in doubt, ask God.

  6. When it causes you harm because the other person did not use prudent judgment in whatever it was the person did.

If you you allow the police to talk with your child and the police find drugs on his/her possession then your child will have a police record and possible have to go to a correctional facility. The harm is worse than what you thought would happen and the child pays the price.

If you find out that a person's parents are not his/her parents in your search and you tell the person that and that person ends up in social services then they most likely will not forgive you.

The point is always look out for the extent of the consequences. they may be dire.
