  1. If the fever has been going on over 24 hours already and climbing time to go to the ER...

  2. My doctor told me if it reaches to 40, call medical help, it can lead to convulsions.

  3. You better get to a doctor now! If it goes any higher it could cause serious problems. Anything over 100 is too high! You need to give him cool baths every 10 minutes to try and bring it down, but really should take him to a doctor now!

  4. take him to the hospital, brain damage starts at 103 if the meds are not helping he really needs to see a doctor right now

  5. go to the doctor.

if its not suppressed, and goes above 103.

  6. It's a fever for anyone if their temperature exceeds 100F.

Take your nephew to the emergency room NOW. A temperature that high can be fatal... and for god's sake, don't give him any more medication, because those sorts of drugs can cause serious reactions in fever patients!

  7. 102.5 is already a pretty bad fever. once it gets higher than that you should get to the hospital. if they won't take him then go to the ER because in emergencies they take anyone. call the parents immediately. lots of fluids!

  8. I'm not familiar with the Fahrenheit scale, but in centigrade, one degree above normal is a fever to me.  That's about two degrees on the Fahrenheit scale.  40 degrees C is dangerously high, since that's 3 degrees above normal, in Fahrenheit that would be about 5-6 degrees F above the the norm.

  9. That is considered a very high fever, especially for a child.  If it gets over 103 and can be considered dangerous.  You should take him to a doctor ASAP and have him drink a lot of water to keep him hydrated.

  10. If his fever still has not come down, and she won't take him, dial 911.  She is present and will have to speak to the paramedics and they will get consent then.  I would hope your sister would realize that this is a serious situation that needs medical attention immediately.  Having a mix of all those drugs in 8 hours can cause a negative reaction and a high fever can cause seizure in children.  Drive your sister to the ER...your nephew needs a doctor ASAP.

  11. You need to take him to the ER ASAP! And word of advice... don't give a 10 yr old boy all those meds. Anthing over 102.5 can be fatal, take him right now to the ER!!

  12. why are you even on the computer, when you are supposed to be responsible for a very sick child.
