When is a good time to start giving a new kitten, kitten food?

They are still nursing just wondering at what age do you offer kitten food?

My friend doesn't start feeding her kittens food until there about 4 to 6 weeks old. She waits till there mom doesn't give them as much milk,  but you haft to start them out on soggy food. Mix in milk with the kitten food till there used to it, then slowly add less and less milk till it's just regular kitten food.

When i got my kitten, it was 5 weeks old. When we got it ,we had to give it some food.
