When is a male cat able to mate?

Question

I took in an abandoned cat who happened to be pregnant. She had 3 kittens, 1 of which I gave away. I still have two kittens left, both males. I plan on keeping them both. The mother is nasty so I don't want her, I'm currently looking for a place for her. I'm concerned though having them in the same room because I've heard the male will impregnate the mother. The kittens were born on April 12, 2008, when are they ready to mate?

starting from six months and after thats why you want to get them fix at six months.  Especially if its a male cuz they will began to spray.  Which is what you don't want if hes going to be an indoor cat.  The last thing you want is 2  male cats inside that become sexually mature and not fixed. It can get really smelly and messing. Yes they will mate with any cat regardless if its a sibling parent relative etc. And thats another thing you don't want is to have inbred kittens. If your not sure go to your vet and they will give you all the information you need.

take the mother to a pet store and they tell u what to do so other plp can adopt her and yes they can pregnant her 2

The boy kittens can mate as soon as they are physically developed. This can be anytime from 4.5months. The mother cat will need to be *in season* for the boys to show any interest, so you may have some warning with her behaviour pattern - she will start calling and rolling around on the floor like a hussy!

Either way, if your not going to keep her, do something now. An animal shelter should take her.

Please get your boys desexed as soon as possible. What if they get out and mate with another stray female... you dont want to contribute to a growing population of unwanted cats. Sterilized male cats make better pets anyway, they are less likely to roam and have sookyer natures.

he will mate when he sees a really HOT  female cat.
