  1. Seven to eight years is about as old as I would go on a well qualified female.

  2. well ill say the best mating is from a year and a half to 5 years

  3. Usually 6 years is the limit.

  4. six yrs is the correct age to stop breeding i am a breeder

    be safe and care

  5. This is a decision best left to be discussed between you, your mentor and your vet.

While a dog can physically have puppies at any age..  its not reccommended.  The older a dog gets, the higher the chance of complications and birth defects.

Most breeders retire their dogs between 6-8 years of age.

There's many things to consider when choosing to breed an older dog.  her overall health should first be considered.  If she was able to carry and whelp previous litters without complications, and decide if she really is a quality dog that's worth the risk that comes with breeding an older dog..  you may do better off to work with an offspring or grand-offspring.

  6. This question really should be answered by your breeding mentor.  Breeding smaller breeds can be very dangerous if you don't know exactly what you are doing.

  7. about six to seven smaller dogs have trouble so have her spayed its healtier for her

  8. I breed golden Retrievers, and 6 years old is suggested for them.  For smaller breeds I would suggest about 5 years old, as after that there is more chance of complications.  Think of it as there being 1 dog year to every 7 woman years.  For a dog of 5 it is a bit like being 35 years old for us, for a dog of 6, 42, and so on.  don't leave it too late

  9. Well it depends on a dogs health but generally around 5. Some folks on here may differ in opinion, I don't have much experience as I do not breed.
