When is considered peak period for a holiday?

Hi

I'm thinking of going to Germany for a holiday later in the year(possibly October), can anyone tell me if that falls within the peak period?

Or specifically what dates peak periods are?

  1. I just checked several touristic related sites for peak seasons:

    ferry booking: 15st June thru 08th September

    holiday appartements: 1st June thru 15th September

    bus-travel holidays: 1st June thru 30st September

    hotel booking: various; start: 1st June, 15th June, 1st July

    end: 15th September, 30st September, 6th October.

    In Munich, peak season generally ends a day after Oktoberfest close down, which is 5th October for this year.

    So in October you generally will not have to pay peak season supplements on the prices.


  2. Peak is usually from July to Sept. Not sure if October falls into this.

  3. July and August are considered high season
