  1. -40

  2. To calculate the formulate find the ratio of

    (Temp-Freezing)/(Boiling-Freezing) in both measuring systems and then set them equal.

    -------------------------

    (F-32)/(212-32) = (C-0)/(100-0) simplify to

    F = 9/5C  + 32

    -------------------------

    Find the temperature when Fahrenheit and Centigrade are equal.

    F=C

    C=9/5C+32

    -4/5C=32

    C=-40

    -------------------------

    Some people find it easier to remember that

    C= 10 Celsius is same temperature as F=50 Fahrenheit

    Adding 5 degrees Celsius is the same as

    adding 9 degrees Fahrenheit

    C=10, F=50

    C=15, F=59

    C=20, F=68

    C=25, F=77

    C=30, F=86

    C=35, F=95

    C=40, F=104

  3. 9/5 - 32 for converting Fahrenheit to celcius

    5/9 + 32 for converting celcius to fahrenheight

  4. -40F and -40C are the same value I don't remember the formula right off hand but I'm sure you could google it.

  5. One of the easy formula to remember C= (F-32)/2

    Negative 40 on both sides will be pointing to same temp...

  6. no

    http://www.wbuf.noaa.gov/tempfc.htm

    that's a converter web site

  7. -40 degrees

    How to get that

    Degrees C = (5/9)*(Deg. F - 32) or C = (5/9)(F-32)

    Deg. F = (9/5)(Deg. C) + 32 or F = (9/5)C+32

    Since F = C, just do a substitution in either equation. Let's use the second one by substituting F for C and solving for F.

    F = (9/5)F+32

    -32 = (4/5)F

    (5/4)(-32) = F

    F = -40

    It wouldn't matter which equation you used or which variable you replaced. You will get the same answer.
