  1. We must get right through May before all fear of frost has gone.

The sensible folk of Yorkshire have an old saying, "Never cast a clout till May is out".  Depending upon interpretation, this either refers to the May Blossom, which appears in March/April or else it means the month of May.

In other words, if you are wearing a heavy tweed coat in January, you will be wise to keep wearing it through until May, the end of.

Here in London today, it should get up to about 18C which is approx 66F in olde English.

It should start to warm up as we get into about the middle of May and by June we should see temperature reach the lower 70sF - approx 20+C.

If you are planning an imortant out-of-doors event, such as a village fete, don't forget to insure it against the possibility of rain.  Should it rain, then you collect from the insurance company.  You might also lay on a small wager with Ladbrokes or whoever your better shop man is.

You just know it's gonna rain here in England during the Summer.

  2. The Met office says we are in for a cooler and wetter summer than normal. How will we tell?

  3. I don't think we'll have avery good summer AGAIN.  It sucks doesn't it. Maybe we'll get a couple of good weeks in May, we usually do, then another 1/2 weeks in June but not when Wimbledon is on , it always rains then, then another week in July, if we're lucky we get a week or two in September, then it starts to turn cold again.  Now... remind me,... why do we live here and not move to warmer climes?

    Have a good day ;-)

  4. It's starting to warm up..... See link below for 5 day weather forecast:
