When is hurricane ike supposed to hit nc?

how long will it last? will there be more? when is hurricane season over? first time in the east coast, not really used to this type of thing.

Ike is not headed up the east coast.  In fact, they've changed his projected path and unfortunately it looks like he's headed for New Orleans.  But things can change quickly with a hurricane, so keep an eye out.

I don't think Ike is suppose to hit us here in NC.  However, it still may be to early to tell.  I think they are predicting that it will go out into the Gulf.  Let's hope he will not grace us with his presence.... Oh yeah, Welcome to NC.

Hanna (now a tropical storm) is just South of South Carolina.  I do not think you will be seeing Ike.  It looks like upper level wind-shear will keep Ike to the Gulf Coast of Florida.  

You should be fine.  Hanna will be there probably tomorrow or Sunday as just a heavy rain storm.
