  1. It might be never. Apple and the cell operators have decided to harden their policies for the iPhone. They are giving a greater subsidy and selling the phone only with a signed contract at the time of your buy.

    You have to leave the store with a contract. So it is unlikely that they sell the phone online. I think that this policy will be in place at least until they make some serious money.
