  1. When they won't quit bugging you about it.


  2. Whenever you feel, in your opinion, that they are dwelling on something and not changing it, when they are just whining, or when they are using something as a crutch or as an excuse to not get on with something...like life.

    If anything it will stop them from complaining to you all the time.

  3. When it's a problem or issue that can NEVER be resolved, because they keep obsessing about it, but refuse to do anything about it.

    Or when they keep harping on mistakes or regrets from the past.
