  4. my own perspective on this one is a bit different from anyone else.

the hobbes account of things is that you can never really overthrow a government justly.  by giving up your rights to the sovereign, that's it.  you can't go back.

the usual account is that when your government is being wantonly unjust, making it worthy of being overthrown.

i think that if you're better off getting a new government than you are with the one you've got?  go for it.  at almost all times in american history, the new government wouldn't serve anyone better than the one they had.  the benefits MUST outweigh the costs.

  5. Well, if you have more people then they do then you must have a good reason.

  6. When the government would destroy the country either militarily or financially

  7. when they fail to represent their constituency and become self serving - it is our civic responsibility to remove them.

if we fail to act then we have failed our constitution and responsibilities.

  8. When the leaders cease to listen and care about their citizens and end up abusing their positions for self-interest and wealth.

  9. When you win and are able to stay in power for a resonable number of years.
