but it hasn't been but 6 days since intercourse, also another about ten days ago.

i bought a pregnancy test, its a digital one, and was pretty expencive so i dont want to take it to soon and not get the correct results.

and my period isn't till the begining of next month.

so?

how many days after intercourse would you recomend taking the test?

  1. 2-3 days before your expected period

  2. I wouldn't worry about taking the test until your period is late. That way  you don't waste the test. Don't take it now because you THINK you might be. Wait until you're almost 100% sure than take it. As far as telling the father, just sit him down and be honest with him. Don't beat around the bush, tackle the issue head on.

  3. You could def. be pregnant there is always a chance everytime you have unprotected s*x. Here is an article that might help you when pregnancy testing:

As far as digital tests..there harder to detect the pregnancy hormone when testing early. I think there is a link here:

Good luck to you I wouldn't drink, smoke, etc. there is always a chance..

  4. Don't take that test yet, that would be a waste of money. With the economy going up it would be nice to save some bucks. But You can take a blood test in a week or so to get accurate results.

  5. Check the instructions on the pack carefully - some tests are specifically for early testing (2-3 days before period due) and others won't give you a true result if you test earlier than a couple of days after your period was due. For most reliable results though, test a couple of days after due. Most tests will be more likely to show a false negative result (saying you're not pregnant when you really are), so if you test and get a "not pregnant" result, but still don't get your period, go to your doctor to have another test.

Telling the dad? Well, I guess there's not much more you can say than "I'm pregnant" - then it will be a test of the relationship as to what happens next. Sorry, not much I can give you on that one!

edit: not a good idea to drink alcohol or take drugs of any kind until you know for sure - if you ARE pregnant, damage can be done right from the start. Better safe than sorry!

  6. If you definately do not want to waste the test then wait until you have missed your period - if your period comes then you know you are not pregnant and save a test.
