I was thinking about buying some teething cookies the other day because my son is 6 months old and already has 5 teeth! The box said 10 months though! Is it okay to give him some anyways?

  1. They break off in chunks...I think they can be a choking hazard myself, just monitor how he does with one...if u see it's too much, take it away and try again later.

  2. I started giving them to my son around 7 months, when he could sit on his own and hold things well.  The biter biscuits are actually safer than small food because they fall apart in large pieces which are harder to choke on (it's like, how its easier to choke on kernels of corn than a whole corn cob).  He didn't have any teeth yet though

  3. my baby was 6 months and with no teeth. she loves them. and shes never choked, if there is some that she cant chew/swallow, she spits it out

  4. Personally, I DO NOT encourage these cookies as I've seen THREE children (all over the age of one) get choked on them!!

  5. I gave them to Emma at five months.  A better option, in my opinion, is Baby Mum Mum's as they dissolve.

  6. I started giving my son those biter biscuits at around 6 or 7 months.  He's 9 months now and he loves them, he only has 4 teeth so far.  It depends on your baby for the most part.  You could always try it and see how it goes.  Just make sure you watch them so they don't bite of too big a chunk and choke on it.
