  1. The farmer's almanac says your average fall frost date is Oct. 6.   That is still two and a half months, but it can cool off enough even before then that the corn may not do much even if it doesn't freeze.  You might make it with one of the early varieties.

  2. Not too late yet!  As long as the ground is above 60 deg. so the plants can get a good start.  You'll want to germinate some seed first.  Pre-soak the seed. Do you have something like a sour cream container? Put the kernels in it, then fill with very warm water. Leave it overnight.

If you get busy, and can't plant, drain the water the next evening, and fill with fresh water, but not that warm. You'll have to plant them by the 3rd day, though, they'll have germinated!! :)

according to the almanac you are too late but only by 11 days so if you do it now it still may be ok.

  4. You will need to find out what your first frost date is. Once you know that, you can decide what to plant. There are early, mid, and late season corn varieties. The earliest that I know of is a 58 - 66 day maturity from planting the seed to eating it. You might be a little too late this season to plant unless you have a very mild fall climate. Good Luck.
