I am in my late 20's and put off going to college because of personal family matters. Now I am stuck in a job that bores me somewhat and want to go to school to study graphic design, art history or photography. I have always loved the arts, but i am so unsure as i feel i have put my life on hold for so long. So it all seems uncertain . . .everything seems uncertain. Advice please :)

  1. Never too late.  I was able to finish college, but got stuck in a dead end job for several years.  Quit, went to grad school in my mid 20's, switched careers and have spent 27 years moving through rewarding jobs in various govt. agencies.  Even so, I'm planning to retire at 55 and start another career.

Don't know where you live, but most areas have affordable programs in community colleges or adult ed programs through larger universities.  Go for it.  You've got nothing to lose and everything to gain.

  2. its never to late. If you want to further your education you should. Don't feel down or uncertain about it if that's what you want to do then do it. hope this helps.

  3. I didn't finish college until I was 28, which  may be younger than you will be when you finish, but I was in class with many people who were older than me. People are going back to college all the time; it's  no longer just for the 18-22 set.

I would highly recommend returning to school.  If you're uncomfortable attending class with younger students, look for a school with higher rates of "non-traditional" students. Additionally, you will be eligible for a lot more grants and loans since you are older. Go for it!

  4. It is never too late to go to university. I know a lady of 40 who actually went to university. You just need to have confidence on yourself. I don't know about school, but there must definitely be several institutions which offer such courses. Don't think twice just start studying. Besides, you're still young! Y r u so worried?

  5. It's never too late. Do some research on which school would be better.  you might wanna start at a community college and work your way up

  6. When you die

  7. No.  I just finished my Master's Degree (I'm 53)--I finished my Bachelors of Science at 28.  My wife is a Junior, working toward her BA--she's 51.  Go for it!
