  1. Well, the definition of 'due' implies that something is owed.  With historical data and current weather predictive efforts you could assign a probability of New England getting a hurricane over a period of time, but since weather is not some form of transaction, New England cannot be 'owed' a hurricane.

    Hope this helps

    Cheers!

  2. Well I live in New York city, and New England is way overdue for a hurricane. On average, a hurricane hits the New England area around every 12-15 years, and we haven't had a major hurricane to hit New England since 1938, and this area usually gets hit with a major hurricane about every 40 years or so. We are way overdue for a major hurricane (that is a hurricane that is at category three and higher) and we are about 11 years overdue for a regular hurricane. However, we can't really predict when is the next time a hurricane will hit Ne England, but it can happen anytime during the hurricane season, especially in August, September and early October.

Anyway, I am an amateur meteorologist and I have studied hurricane patterns throughout the U.S. The last major hurricane to hit the northeast was the Long Island Expressway hurricane of 1938, and before that, this area gets hit with a major hurricane about every 40 years or so, meaning, on average. the last one should have come around 1978, but now its 2008 so we are 30 years overdue. And as for a regular hurricane, the last one was Bob in 1991, and before that it was Gloria in 1985. Like I said before, a regular hurricane hits New England about every 15 years or so.

    I hope this helps.

  3. Technically Duckie68 is right.  Do you want to know when New England will be hit with a hurricane?  There's no way of knowing til a storm heads that way.
