When is oscar de la hoya going to save boxing..... again?

all the de la hoya can suck the big one but when is the only reason why boxing have an audience these days will de la hoya fight again? honestly thats the only reason why the vast majority of average fans will watch cuz he fights and beats the best fighters out there.not mentioning all the robberies he has had to endure over the years.plus i heard he had more people come to his public workouts than floyd mayweather has in a major fight!so who is odlh going to beat next?

De La Hoya although most of his recent fights have ended in a loss he is still boxing biggest attraction.  Boxers like Mayweather, Hopkins, and every other big headed dumb *** have ruined a sport because everyone wants to be a super millionaire.......... if u want that go to school and major in business finance.

Boxing doesn't need to be saved by anyone.........go watch Pavlick vs Taylor II or Vazquez/Marquez(any of the three) and then come back and tell me about what the state of boxing is.........I think Oscar is not doing boxing any big favor by his proposed second fight with Mayweather later this year...........Oscar hasn't been a P4P kinda fighter for a decent amt. of years now........beating the smoking, drinking and partying Ricardo Mayorga is not that great a feat in my opinion.     I guess the problem that I have with him fighting Mayweather again is because of who he's possibly taking an opportunity away from........Cotto, Cintron, Margarito.      I truly believe that if Oscar wasn't in the picture to fight him, that Mayweather would turn his attention to a Cotto fight due to the fact that Cotto is the next most popular fighter in that weight class...........therefore they'll get more money...........and Cotto is a more deserving opponent then Oscar is at this point in their careers.

To answer your question though...........Oscar is fighting Steve Forbes on May 3rd and then he wants another fight with Mayweather.

He would save boxing if he would retire & just be a full time promoter.   He hasn't been a fighter since Bernard Hopkins Ko'd him.   He fights guys that are tailor made for him like Mayorga.   He hasn't been much of a fighter in the last 10 years.

Sorry homie DLH's a has-been. He can probably still fight, but he won't attract the vast amount of people he did 5 years ago. He's a married man, he's older, and his mind is going towards business. He's very smart venturing in the promoting part of the business.

De la Hoya has more respect and more fans than Mayweather because he fought the best fighters out there he fought sugar Shane Mosley(twice),Bernard Hopkins & Tito Trinidad.Who has Mayweather beat? "Hatton" was just overrated and his fight against de la hoya was a big dissapiontment because he did'nt want to get in a brawl with de la hoya, he did'nt live up to all that talk about ''im going to destroy de la hoya bruttaly''.De la hoya is not the fighter he used to be, both he and mayweather are more businessmen then they are boxers there last PPV fight broke the records for more bought and ODLH won $50million for that fight.They will have a Rematch this summer but its not a fight the fans are asking for,If de la hoya really wants to save boxing he should fight Miguel Cotto,or have a rematch with Trinidad.the same with mayweather why go fight overated hatton when there alot of undefeated and good fighters out there.A fight many Mexican fans would love to see is Julio Cesar Chavez jr vs ODLH because they want to see him avenge his father's lost against de la hoya

Oscar is the most popular man in boxing today. He can fight any bum off the street and still sell. I see him saving boxing by fighting Miguel Cotto which the fight will be(for lack of a better word) AMAZING. Both of them like going toe to toe and the fight will be action packed. Another fight that will sell a lot is Oscar vs Trinidad. This fight will sell because we all saw Oscar win their first fight, so people are going to want to see how Oscar avenges his robbery. Personally I would like to see him face Miguel Cotto, even if he doesn't beat Cotto the fight will be worth all the money. There are also rumors saying that De La Hoya will face Manny Pacquiao. That fight will sell and break the ppv sales record easily. I'll just be waiting for one of these fights. I'm also going to be there when Oscar faces Steve Forbes.

boxing is safe...manny pacquiao and marquez is a h**l of a fight...but a fight i would like to see with oscar in it would be agaisnt antonio margarito...this would be a good fight because theyre both pretty tall in theyre division and theyre both the kind of guys that go forward...
