When is "earnings season" typically?

I mean when do the typical quarterly earnings announcements begin and end (very generally speaking for the larger corporations). Also, is there any place where I can see the upcoming dates for these announcements?

Thanks for your help!

  1. Companies set their own quarters for various reasons. For publicly traded companies, you should be able to find this info on each company’s website. Privately held companies do not have to disclose this since they have no shareholders to deal with.

  2. They began a few days ago and will run for about a month.  Some companies take longer to juggle the books than others, so to put dates on it  About April 15-May 15; July 15-Aug 15, Oct 15-Nov 15,  and then year end which normally takes somewhat longer perhaps because there is more juggling to do.  GE is generally one of the earliers, about the 11th.
