Well, based on calenders..."Autumnal Equinox" falls on the 22nd of September,  I'm assuming that "summer" is at the last stages before that.

Summer is officially over when the Autumnal Equinox occurs. This year it falls on Sept. 23rd.  For those concerned, Spring begins on the Vernal Equinox, Summer begins on the Summer Solstice and Winter on the Winter Solstice.  The Equinox designates the two days per year where the daylight and night darkness are of equal length.  The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year (longest period of sunlight) and the Winter Solstice is the shortest.  These are determined in relation to the Prime Meridian, at Greenwich England.
