  1. smaller experiments have been conducted for over 2 years now. the main collision, which will effectively prove (although it's a given by now) Einstein's theory of relativity, is set to commence later this month. it will not be the end of the world. any black hole produced will be too small to tear a hole in the space time fabric, but interesting to note that if anyone from the future does have the ability to travel back in time through black holes, the date of this experiment will be the farthest back in time he will be able to travel, as he will need this black hole to come out of. any event pre-dating the first creation of a black hole will never be accessed.

  2. 10th September

  3. Apparently it was supposed to start up today.

  4. The Large Hadron Collider similar to the Superconducting Super Collider which was never completed. It is located near Geneva, Switzerland and starts up this weekend.

The potential black hole created by this device will degrade due to Hawkings radiation and poses no threat to existence.
