Is it september? Its just that it seems as though different trades within the RAF start their training at different stages in the year. All sensible answers will be much appreciated.

  1. Regiment training is seperate from the rest of the RAF. It's at RAF Honington just outside Bury St Edmunds, not Hendon. Intakes go on throughout the year not set times. It's a 26 week basic training course compared to 6 weeks for other trades. Failure rate is about 70%. You'll pass out as an LAC as opposed to AC for other trades.

  2. there isn't one start time courses form up all the time to start training. It would be organised so there is one starting every two weeks for example.

Now is a good time to join they are increasing the number of people in the RAF Regiment.

70% is a very high failure rate, i doubt it's that high, hard though the course maybe. That failure rate is SF levels and would be unsustainable in a normal trade.
