  1. It already has joined the EU, hence the reason we're flooded with Eastern European migrants.

The UK just hasn't chosen to adopt the Euro as its currency yet.  This is not a mandatory aspect of EU membership.

  2. never, the UK has more in common with america than it does with europe

  3. Its already a member!

  4. I think you mean, when is the UK going to join the Euro zone?

Wait for Commisar Miliband to take control - and then take the country in the wrong direction.

He's as sound as a three pound coin.

  5. The UK has been in the European Union since 1973, although then it was called the Common Market.

EDIT: I just love thickos who give me and others the thumbs down when they are the ones who don't know what they're talking about. Idiots - make me so f'ing mad.

  6. We will NEVER vote to join but our so called superiors will sneak us in the back door.

    Slippery sod's.

We have to watch them like a hawk.

  7. The UK is a member of the EU but does not have the Euro.  Not sure why because it's a d**n nusicance having to keep changing money when going off for a few days to Paris on the EuroStar.

EuroStar on the Kent raceway towards France

    Speed = 208mph

Journey time St. Pancras to Gade du Nord Paris 2.15hrs

  8. you may has well ask when are all the population going to commit suicide, the English don't want or need the EU, the majority want out ASP.

  9. GBP is worth more then the Euro and their economy is stronger, they'd be unwise to subscribe the Euro.  Additionally, there are still too many arguments about farming subsidies that work against Britain.

Outside of the economic arena they are members of the EU.

  10. What is the benefit to the citizens of England to adhere to a controlling govt that is not voted on that can impliment policies that run counter the culture and behavior of England?

Joining the EU would be a huge mistake especially if they had to give up their currency which means handing over soverignty and independence. What good has come out of the EU except the propogation of political correctness which allows muslims to run amuck in Europe. Good luck getting them out now.

  11. why should they the e.u. is just another liberal attempt to control the people of the world,I.E. communism, socialism, dictatorship,we the smarter than due liberals will tell you how to live your life, what you can eat, when you can see a doctor, what car you can drive, how much you can cool,or heat your home, how your childern will be educated, and how many times you will present your backside to the muslims, and the blacks,to pay for the actions of your forefathers!

  12. The British have joined the political union, but not the economic one,ie the euro. All protection of Britain's citizens against exploitation in the workplace has come from the eu.The british people can be really quite dumb at times. The eu has made chocolate manufactures put more chocolate into England's sweets. The eu have forced the airlines to increase the min foot space for passengers. The eu have forced mobile operators to cut their prices for overseas texts and calls.the eu have ordered britain to observe human rights of it's citizens to a greater degree.Britain has exploited it's citizens mercilessly from government and business, through the ages.Rip off britain.Hopefully the eu will force this country to educate our people to european standards

  13. We have been in since 1973.

But not in the Euro Zone, which is the group that has chosen to use a common currency.

  14. <sigh>

the EU is the European Union, which is largely a successor of the ECC (European Economic Community). It started out as a free trade zone. Most of the Union is still about preventing trade barriers and harmonising laws to do with trade and the transport of goods and the movement of workers. the Union has some extra things added from the ECC but the structure is fundamentally the same. The original idea was that if the countries of Europe were sufficiently close economically, it would be impossible for them to go to war with each other again. The reason countries want to come into the EU, and why the UK is in it, is all to do with economics.

The Euro is the single currency used by a subset of EU countries, and is administered by a central bank. It has little if anything to do with free trade. the UK is not in the Euro because the it would not be economically advantageous. And politically impossible. Sterling is historically a much more stable currency.
