  1. You must know that the rainny season is between December and March so forget going there then. The "summer" and dry season which is the best for hiking and looking at the breathtaking view is between May and October being June and July the absolute best. June 24 is the Inti Raimi (Worshipping of the Sun) celebration where you see how the Incas lived.

  2. I don't know Mochu Picchu, google it and I guess you'll have your answer, but...if you want to go to Macchu Picchu then the best season is between the months of April and October, the dry season. Recommendable but crowded: month of July for the Inti Raymi (Feast of the God Sun).

Last year, Bill Gates was at the Inti Raymi....be part of the celebrities list :)

  3. There is nothing in Peru named "Mochu Picchu".

  4. Peak season = good weather but extremely busy

Low season = changeable weather but far quieter

I went in March, shortly after the trail was re-opened (they close it for cleaning every February). Spotless. Some rain, lots of sun, some clouds - but that all adds to the experience. Not so many people, which makes it far more enjoyable.

So it really depends whether you want to be part of a mass stampede but with sunshine, or a quieter visit with possibly not as nice weather.

I wouldn't be surprised if Starbucks do a Mochu Picchu.

  5. The dry season runs from may to october, however you should consider some things:

    - Mid may are most of the school "prom trips"

    - Though june-july have the best weather and the inti raymi celebration (june 24th) they're packed with tourists and prices rocket.

    - June 28-29th are the national days and most Peruvians take their vacations on these days.

I`d suggest sometime around sept-oct. it`s not so hot, not so many tourist and not so expensive. Cuzco and Machu Picchu are excellent with or without the inti raymi.
