  1. Daffodils and other spring-blooming bulbs such as tulips and hyacinths, must be planted in the fall.  Plant them any time from September until the ground freezes.

  2. Depending on your location.  Here in Northern Ca. the rule of thumb is in the fall before Thanksgiving. That goes for tulips and sweet peas too.

  3. The best time of the year is the fall but weeks before the first frost.  So depending on where you live will depend how soon you need to plant them.

  4. Plant from Sept. on as long as the ground is open.

Dig 8" deep hole for each bulb and add a handful bonemeal to the bottom. Cover with good garden soil.

Plant the daffodils to form a clump. To give a good show.

The sweet violet with the blue fragrant flowers bloom at the same time. Both together -  the blue and yellow look gorgeous in my opinion.

  5. Here is more information on how to grow daffs for you:

  6. Since the daffodils bloom in the spring you need to plant or divide in the fall if the plant blooms in the fall you usually plant and divide in the spring this is a rule of thumb from the Master Gardeners I hope this answers your question.

  7. In the fall.

That's usually the only time they're available anyway.

Sometimes you can find them potted up and in bloom in the spring, but it's harder to transplant them when they're in full growth mode, rather than when they're a dormant bulb.
