I'm flying to Ireland from California next year, and want to go when the weather is good, but would rather avoid the times when a lot of tourists are there.

much thanks!

  1. The weather is absolutely unpredictable here. It could be sunny in mid february and freezing cold in mid august.

Most of the tourists come in July, August or December.

I personaly think you should come in autumn, the weather is not great, but reasonably enjoyable...and it's really beautiful during that time.

Or else september is my best shot for decent weather and not too many tourists.

  2. Hi,

In Ireland the weather is very unpredictable but I would come in August. Sometimes in August the temperatures are high, the sun shines.

However the weather is unpredictabe eg. Today it is now about 20 degrees and this morning it was lashing rain...

I would come in August and hope for the best...

    Hope this helps.

  3. On the two occasions I've been there, it was November and late January. The weather was cool and quite comfortable for the most part. There were very few other Americans. Some things were closed for the season, but it still wasn't hard to find places to stay, things to do. But best of all, my favourite part of all that, is that wherever we went, there was usually a peat fire and a cup of Barry's Tea waiting for us. I dearly love the smells and tastes of those things, and I don't think I ever want to go back to Ireland during the warm months because I'd miss that!

  4. You need to define what you mean by 'when the weather is good' - the weather in Ireland changes by the hour, it's very common to have all four seasons in one day.

Right now it's the end of June, and outside it's windy, so the wind is bringing in some rain showers from the Atlantic, so I'm watching the sky all the time in order to run out and rescue my laundry on the clothes line .... it's also about 15 degrees Celsius, and you need a sweater. However, given that the showers are only intermittent, today the weather in Ireland is good.

We have had 30 degrees celsius plus, but that doesn't happen very often. Generally 25 degrees is as warm as it gets, and it's generally fairly humid.
