I want to plan a cruise for my boyfriend & I, but summer is nearly over and I'm wondering if there are any other good times of the year to cruise...?

Also, can anyone provide any good websites for planning a cruise?

Anyone with 'cruising' experience with good advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance =)

  1. Out of twelve cruises, I have been in Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb,  and MAY!

Go in the cool months....enjoy the contrast in weather.

    May was a killer!

  2. in a time where hurricanes aren't popular, like jan. feb. or march. we went on a cruise and got caught up in a hurricane, which totally messed up our routes.

  3. In my opinion the best time would be December or sometime during the winter season. It is absolutely beautiful and the whales and monarch butterflies are migrating to Mexico. Take this from a Mexican. Hope I helped! ♥

  4. Winter months are great, as stated earlier.  I am a travel agent with my own website, but I'm not sure of the "legalities" of posting that type of answer on a Yahoo page -- don't want to get booted for trying to sell.  You can e-mail me (click on my avatar), and I will help more from there if you like.

    Thanks!

  5. I have been to the Mexican Riviera twice via cruise ship, and have two more booked.  I have been to Cozumel (which is part of Mexico, but on the Caribbean side) twice also.

In my opinion, on either side (Pacific for the Mexican Riviera or the Caribbean side) the best time to go is April and May (but avoid Easter time).

Why?  Because the winter is a very popular time to go, so that is the high season.  During the summer it is very hot in Mexico.  So that leaves fall and spring.  The problem with the fall is that is hurricane season (on both the Caribbean and Pacific sides).  Thus spring offers the best weather with the least crowds (as long as you avoid Easter time).

  6. I went to Cozumel, MX through Royal Carribbean January 2007.  The weather was perfect with no rain and complete sunshine!  I heard Carnival is more of the party ship and Royal Caribbean is the relaxing ship.  I went though a travel agent.  They will take care of any problems that may occur.

I would definitely suggest going in the winter months.  It's still hurricane season right now and the weather might be the greatest with rain.  Besides if you do it in the winter, you have time to book.  The more time you give, the cheaper the trip!

I hope I've been some help.  Have a great trip!  It's a blast!
