  1. Summer because in winter they only have about 4 hours of daylight.

  2. I've only visited Iceland once, in March this year when there was still a lot of late winter snow about. I thoroughly loved it and plan to go back in the summer next year. Although I've not seen it in the summer yet, I've kind of come to the conclusion that it's good to see it at both times of the year for different reasons.

Iceland is not a particularly cheap country to begin with but during the summer months and peak demand hotels become very expensive and booked up well in advance.

My trip was essentially a three day city break to Reykjavik. Some highly recommended if typically tourist things to see are; what is referred to as the golden circle tour. This takes you to some popular sites of interest, Thingvellir national park, Gullfoss waterfall and the Geysirs. The Blue Lagoon geothermal spa is an absolute must, best worked in with your return journey to the international airport since they are quite close to each other. I don't know if you are into this kind of thing but in the summer months there are whale watching boat trips too.

  3. Go in the summer. Iceland is a very historic country. You should go to the museums.

  4. anytime is a good time to go, depending on what you are into, but it is much cheaper to travel there in the winter...

  5. Saturday morning to buy frozen food. (it's not as crowded as Tesco).
