  1. The best time is around March unless the winds are blowing from the north.  Never, never come on a holiday weekend or near a holiday like Thanksgiving or Christmas or definitely not New Years.

    Check out www.lasvegasnow.com for links

All the casinos on the Strip have special feasures and varied prices.  Personally I loved our stay at Treasure Island but the Venetian is fantastic as is the Luxor.

  2. I suggest that you read a lot about the different hotels.  I personally suggest that you stay at the Planet Hollywood!  It has a great young hip vibe!  You can read a great review about the Planet Hollywood at http://www.bestofvegas.com/hotels/Planet...

    Have fun!

  3. The best weather in Vegas is September (avoid labor day weekend) through end through October, The weather will still be in the 80's or 90's and the strip will be a lot less crowded.  You could probably go as late as Early November and still have descent weather. The biggest crowds are in April through Labor Day weekend.

Jan(avoid new years and big game weekend) -March is still nice because Vegas has mild winters and hardly any crowds. You will need a jacket, but barring a freak snowfall, you shouldn't freeze to death.  Most hotels have Mon-Thurs deals if you and your friends can accommodate weekdays!  , Look on-line or call the hotel directly. The nice, not crazy expensive hotels tend to be older properties. Try MGM Grand, Mirage, Treasure Island, Monte Carlo, Flamingo Hilton, Caesar's, Bally's and Paris.

  4. When you look for a hotel in Vegas consider this. For the most part, the big hotels on the Strip are great. The most important things to consider are location, price, and in the summer you want to consider the hotel’s pool area. So, stay on the strip in the center of all of the hotel locations so that you can walk to see all of the hotels and casinos, and all of the free attractions. The best place to stay to do that is in one of the hotels on or nearest to Flamingo Rd & the Strip. At that corner is Caesars Palace, Bellagio, the Flamingo, Ballys, and the Paris hotels. This link will take you to a map of the strip so you can see ( http://www.goingtovegas.com/kpv-lvst.htm ) I am not saying you need to stay in one of these but stay close to them. I do recommend the Flamingo, Paris, and Monte Carlo hotels if you are looking for a good price, and location.

The next thing to consider in picking the BEST place is price. Rates go down in the summer (and again after Thanksgiving, until about mid-January (except new years eve when prices double)). So pick a place that has the best price for you. Hotels like Caesars, Wynn, The Venetian, and Bellagio will cost top dollar all of the time (like $150 and up) per night even during the summer and more in peak times. The Flamingo, Ballys , Monte Carlo, and some others you can get into for around $100 (but most times for less) during the low seasons and most any time. Its also more expensive in all Vegas hotels on Friday and Saturday nights by $40 to $60 more per night. So to get a lower rate plan to go to Vegas on Sunday and stay through Thursday night.

In the summer you probably want to spend some time at the pool areas, which in Vegas are fabulous.   Even in the Fall many hotel pools are still open.  All of the big hotels have great pool areas. But the Mandalay Bay, and Monte Carlo hotels have a wave pool and a lazy river for tubing or body floating. The MGM hotel has a huge lazy river and a water fall. The Flamingo has a water slide (not big but nice and refreshing) and also a water fall. The pools at Caesars and Bellagio are good because they have multiple pools and plenty of places to sit. Caesars even has a topless pool areas called the VENUS POOL.

I have stayed at Mandalay Bay, Excalibur, Paris, MGM, Monte Carlo, Bellagio, Caesars, the Rio, the Flamingo, Ballys, and Harrahs. But the BEST place for me when I go is the place that has the best price when I want to go there. So shop the hotel web sites, look at the hotel rate calendars, and go when the price is the lowest. That's the best place to stay on the Strip.  Also, many of the hotels are partners and so if you log onto one web site, like for example MGM, you will be able to get the rates for partner hotels like the Bellagio and Monte Carlo for the same dates. So you can shop for rooms at several hotels on one web site.

You can probably get lower priced rooms at the Stratosphere, Circus Circus, the Sahara, and the Rivera on the north end of the Strip, the Tropicana on the south end, and the hotels on Fremont Street.  These hotels are in locations that will place you a long way from the center of the strip action and you’ll have to take a bus or taxi to Strip action. In addition, if you need to run to the room for a little R&R, it’s a long ways.

I suggest that you look at the hotel web site at their rate calendar and once you see good rates at times that will work, check airline web sites for good air fares.

  5. For airfare, check

    http://southwest.com/

    http://airtran.com/Home.aspx

    http://jetblue.com/

If all of those fail you, you can check http://www.bookingbuddy.com/

As far as a hotel to stay in, I like to look for cheaper hotels also so that I am able to spend more money on entertainment and stuff.  So I always stay in Excalibur for $51.night.  It is in a great location and it is decent.  They also have some newly renovated rooms that look very nice- I am staying in one when I go on the 25th.

This is a website with the lowest hotel rates published by the hotels themselves.  http://www.smartervegas.com/  Some other options you might want to look into, being a group of girls, would be Luxor, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, or the Palms.

Based on the hotel rates right now through the end of the year, it looks like the cheapest times to go would be Sept 14-19, Sept. 28- Oct. 3,

Nov 23- Nov 27 goes way down, and almost the entire month of December is pretty cheap.  A lot of the hotels keep their pools opened year round, but Tropicana is the only hotel with an indoor pool.

In order to get a good deal on the airfare, you would have to book AT LEAST 30 days in advance, so I would say the best time to go would be either Nov 23-27 or the second couple weeks of December.  They say Vegas kind of dies down between the second week of December and Christmas.

  6. The best time to go to Vegas is in the fall or spring. As far as where to stay, always stay on the Vegas strip because that's where you will find all the action.

Book your room directly from the hotels using their discount promo codes. Here are a few codes for hotels on the strip. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/special.p...

  7. I suggest to stay at MGM, it has Studio54 inside which is really great IMO. I would try to get a good hotel promotion for your stay in order to save money. Check http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com for promo codes.

  8. Dont go in the summer, go in the late fall, like late October or November.

Stay on the Las Vegas strip and not downtown.  Stay close to the the LV strip.

Beware of special deals in the newpaper ..

    .

I would wait til I got there, then look around. Take note of the atmosphere around you.

Unless you go to one of the big hotels..you dont want to get off into the side streets much...where the strip joints seedy bars etc are.

  10. October or Novemeber would be good. I LOVE to stay at the Hard Rock, it is off the stip but it's so great. There are no kids there, the casino doesn't get as smokey as others, the machines are not loud at all, the Center Bar is always busy and there's always attractive guys there. Hope that helps, have fun!
