Any time but during hurricaine season is a good time to visit.

Any time would be nice to go back home, if you ask me! : )  however for a tourist the worst time to visit the DR would be Christmas, first because the weather is not as hot as it normally is. Secondly there are so many Dominicans coming home for Christmas that is kind of tedious at the airport.

Well any time is good time to visit the capital Santo Domingo.

Of course in the months of June to end September it is hot, especially in the capital. Just see if you realy don't know well the capital, i would suggest to take a guide (private) or even one off the organized tours. This is a big city with more than 3.500.000 people and divided in 2 parts. Be shure to visit the Zona Colonial ( El conde) La calle de las Damas, Plaza d'España, Casa Colon, and so many things more,....
