  1. I didn't really read through the answers, so I'm not too sure what other moms have said, but for me this is personally works best for my now 6.5 month old son. He usually eats his last bottle of the night around 9 o'clock, and then we bathe him, lotion him down with johnson's bedtime lotion, and let him play around on our bed and wear himself out a little. Some moms feed after the bath, and hey if it works for them great, I would just rather wait a few minutes to see if he spits up and then clean him up. 6pm isn't too early if that's what works for you and your little one. You have to be the one deciding what time you want your routine to start. If it works better for you, then go with that. Every mom has their own way of doing it, and it works for them. Just wanted to share my personal experience. =)

  2. I think a bedtime routine is very important for babies. I would say that you should try to give him a bath same time every night and then some cuddles and a bottle. It will help him relax and go to sleep easier. It really help my daughter understand that it was bedtime!

but it's whatever works best for you and your baby!

    Good Luck!

  3. When my son was that small I would bathe him about 6:00, lotion him up, put on a fresh diaper then feed him his bottle. I only bathed him every other day. My doctor informed me that it wouldn't kill him to go a day without a bath lol. So just whenever you want to really. Whatever is the best for your routine with your little one!

  4. I have always had really good luck getting the kids to sleep through the night by setting a bedtime routine, and part of that routine is the bath. Give them a nice bath and then massage baby lotion onto them, and then jammy and feed. They will get used to this routine and it will help them to sleep through the night and do it sooner.

  5. set a routine that works for you.  what worked for me was to bathe my babies (this usually got them all worked up) then i would give them a warm bottles.  i never heated bottles through out the day.  so all the activity (of the bath) then a warm meal usually lulled them right to lala land.  good luck

  6. Whatever your preference is. theres no right answer to this question

  7. it varies some babies sleep better after baths while it may wake others up.

  8. no i dont think 18:00 is too early...sounds like its close to their bed time...if the baby tends to sleep while eating then yes, give the bath before hand, but if they stay awake or spit up some, i prefer to give the bath after they eat so they dont get all clean then smell like spit up right after.

  9. We bathed our newborns usually in the morning, after breakfast but before lunch.  No set schedule for eating and sleeping, but they do sleep a lot.

If they had a bad day with spit-up, then they might just get more than one.  You can't schedule everything, somethings you just have to wing it.

  10. my pediatrician just recommended that i not bathe my babies right after a feeding because babies are more likely to spit up from all the movement. i found that bathing my girls before bedtime was the best for us. we made a sort of night time ritual about it to help the girls get used to bedtime. we'd have a bath, rub them down with lotion, read a story, have a feeding, then tuck them in with a good night kiss and a prayer.

  11. I would feed your baby first because the bath will probably knock her/him out, and then he/she will sleep when you try to feed. So, feed, bath, sleep...a natural way to wind down.
