Lowest prices are generally mid week, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.  =Earling morning flight and late eve flights are usually cheaper, all depends on what flights need to be filled, sometimes mid0day is cheaper.

Book at a minimum 14 days in advance, 21 preferrably. Try a search engine like Kayak or Booking Buddy or Cheap Tickets.

it depends if you are in Australia and flying interstate, the best and cheapest flights are mid week and late at night.

If you book on line with Virgin blue its even cheaper still than going through an agent , you can pay credit card and just pickup a boarding pass at airport, show picture ID

also you can sign up with them to get  specials emailed to you when they are on

you should always shop around. I suggest shopping for a ticket at least 4 months prior to flight date. make a list of prices every couple weeks and compare it.

Monday, Friday, and Weekends are generally more expensive than tuesday, wednesday, and thursday.

And flight during the middle of the day usually have less people.
