Buy them early. You won't get any last minute deals. Actually you will pay more if wait to long.  December is more expensive to travel to the caribbean. Try Orbitz or hotwire.

Buy them as SOON as possible ... trust me .. been there a bunch of times !!!  The prices always go up and down .. almost everyday but all I can say is for you to buy them during the week and not on the weekends cause they tend to get the prices higher during the weekends.  Like I said I travel LOTS so I've noticed it before.  

December is a very busy time here in Puerto Rico so it tends to get very expensive if you leave it for a last minute thing.
