When is the best time to change the oil on yamaha r6 ? ( how many miles)?

whats the best way.. n also whats the millage on r6 a gallon?

I have an r6 also. I change my oil every 2500 miles and oil my chain once every two weeks. I dont have a garage or the tools yet I just take it to the local yamaha dealer it's roughly 65.00  bucks. I have an 04 r6 and I get about 50mpg but I dont ride like an ******. after all is said and done it's all up to you. Ride safe brother...

I change oil and filter between 3,000 and 3,500 miles. some people say you only need to change the filter every other oil change but that is just retarded.

MPG is about between 33 and 47. it all depends on how hard you ride and how well you maintain the bike.

Check the manual that came with the bike and follow its recommendations.

If you don't have the manual,  order one through your Yamaha dealer and in the meanwhile, ask at the service department of the dealership.

everybody has his own way of knowing when to change the oil on a yamaha. they can really go on for a long time with out an oil change. but i seen people change it every month. well it's there money. i would guest every 5000 miles or you can check how dirty it is on the dip stick.
