I have very irregular periods.. I can go for months without getting one. I really want to have a baby, and I want to do it naturally, I really dont want to go to a doctor yet. What is the best way to determine when to concieve? Also, I was on BC for 2 years, and have been off for about 3 months.. and I have yet to get a period, I'm not pregnant, its just how my body works. Any advice? Please send lots of baby dust my way! Thanks!

  1. It may take some time for your body to normal out after stopping the birth control. It takes time for the birth control to flush out of your system. The norm for coming off birth control to get a period and/or conceive is 3 months, but it is different for every woman. I would recommend getting some ovulation kits, or a fertility monitor, or even charting your basal body temp, to help you pinpoint your fertile window, and become familiar with your ovulation pattern. I would also recommend telling your Dr. about your period being a no show, and not ovulating since coming off the pill. There are pills that can induce ovulation, and start you out, if not on your own. Here's all the luck and baby dust in the world for you!

  2. You should start charting your cycle online to see when and if you ovulate

http://www.fertilityfriend.com/ is a good one,  There is also a book- Taking Charge of Your Fertility, 10th Anniversary Edition: The Definitive Guide to Natural Birth Control, Pregnancy Achievement, and Reproductive Health by Toni Weschler (Paperback - Oct 31, 2006) that you should read.

    Good luck!
