When is the best time to go school supply shopping?

every year at before the end of the summer, i go school supply shopping before school to be prepared for the first day of school. but on the first day of school, each class gives you a new list of things to buy which makes me have to go to the store again. the things i will bring on the first day of school are a pencil, paper, and a folder. so when is the best time to buy school supplies: before school, or after school on the first day of school?

I go b4 the first day of school to get the basics, then i go after i get my supply lists to get everything.

i would definitley say before school. if there are things on the list that your teacher gives you that are new, you can always go back, but most likely you will have most of the items that your teachers want you to have already. good luck =]

If you go before, you might end up getting unnecessary things.

What I do is:

Mylittle brother's school gives them a supply list before hand, so when we go shopping for him before school, I get a one inch binder, 1 pack of notebook paper, dividers, pens and pencils. I se up the bider to divide each of my classes, then put paper inbetween. I put the pens and pencils on my bookbag pocket. On the first day i'll be able to write down quick notes for each class because of how i set up my binder. Then after school  i go to walgreens and pick up what i dont have.

Get a Sunday paper and watch out for the back to school ads, keep an eye out for the school supply one from walmart, they usually have some great prices that allow you to buy the whole years of supplies pretty cheap.

It's best to get the list of school supplies on the last day of school before the summer holidays. Don't wait until the first day of school to get the list then you'll miss out on the summer sales and lose time shopping and searching for materials on the first day of school.

and teachers will give you a few days to have the supplies. they're not gonna expect you to have everything on the first or second day.
