When is the best time to go to Cannes, France?

Im planning to go to Cannes with my boyfriend on his birthday.

Anyone knows when is the best time to go?

Where is the best place to visit and any recommended accommodations?

During Spring and Summer of course.. and also whenever there is a Cannes Film Festival. This is where I saw Jody Foster and Banderas in person in 1999.

cannes is a beautifull town in south of france so temperatures during all the year are sweet.

every year there is the cannes festival so don t come during this periode because you ll never have an hotel during this time dates of the festival this year is 05/14/08 05/25/08.

If you don't mind the crowd, go in summer, that's when the weather is at it's best, otherwise I would say September because all the tourists are gone but it's still nice and warm. It's actually fun to go for the Film Festival but you need to reserve 6 months in advance and be prepared for crowds. Going to see the films is awesome though. You could always stay in Nice or the very romantic St. Paul de Vence and drive down to Cannes.
