Try March! the prices are cheapier than summer and the weather is great! You could do Feburary and of course deal with the bitter cold since you will be surrouded by water but overall January, February and March are the best times especially because there are also less tourists! You will be glad everytime you go to a museum or visit in Venice because it feels as though the place was all yours during these months! Tip: You will even find cheapier prices when you do the air and hotel package! You do not need a car!

I've been in May and in late October. The weather in May was perfect, but the city was too crowded with tourists. I particularly enjoyed visiting Venice in late October. There weren't as many tourists and the fog that rolled in during the evenings made the city seem mysterious and romantic.

There is never a bad time to go to Venice.  I would try to stay away from the tourist season (summer).  We were in Venice on 3/5 & 3/6 and it was delightful!  It was a little cool, but still wonderful!

September because it's still warm , it's less crowded. December is also a beautiful time because the holiday decorations are up.

Tell you true any time is a good time to go to Venice. very romantic
