  1. I planted all kinds of beans and peas last week in my raised garden. I started other plants such as tomatoes from seed to plant in late August. This is here in Dallas and Houston.


  2. North Central Texas is between zone 7 and 8...and you can plant now for your fall crop.  Give the vegetables two months at least to grow and mature, which would bring your harvest to early October, enough time for your average first frost of the season.

    Do look at the seed packets.  The packets will tell you when the crop is mature for harvesting.  There can be quite a big difference in the havest dates of cabbage, beets and peas.  Plan accordingly.  Figure late October for your last harvest date.
