I've just been wondering when would be a good time to post a new chapter so more people can see it. Noon? 3:00? 6:00? 9:00? When do you usually log on to fanfiction to do a little reading?

  1. I usually post in the early afternoon, if only because it sometimes takes a couple of hours for new chapters to appear.  This means that your chapter will pop up sometime in the evening, when people are actually reading.

  2. You have to consider time zones as well.  I usually post whenever I can, but I get the most new readers when I post sometime between the hours of three and seven pm, for the USA.  That's when most kids are getting home from school and checking their email (although this doesn't really apply during the summer) and the adults are back from work.

I would also avoid posting on late Sunday or even Saturday, because so many people post at that time, your chapter quickly moves from the first page to the second or third, and most people don't scour the Just In pages- they look at the first page or they look on other people's faves.
