  1. I think there is also a naturalist (specialist) who knows about wildlife esp ON alaska cruises. They would help you.  also talk to others who have taken cruises (cruisecritic.com).

  2. That all depends on what animals you wish to see where they choose to walk that day.   It is hit or miss when you go looking for animals anywhere you go.   Even the fishermen up there have good and bad catches because the fish chose to swim in a different part of the ocean.   I lived up there for 3 years as a kid.  My dad hunted all the time up there.   One time he would go and see whole herds of elk or cariboo and other times he would go out the entire hunting season and never see one animal.    One time when he took all of us kids with him, we were chased by a male Elk all the way back to the vehicle.  We couldn't even take the time to stop and shoot or we would have been bulled over by that big overgrown deer on 4 legs.   I hope you do see them.   Usually the cruise ships will have a pretty good idea of where to go and when to get there but it is still hit and miss for them too.

  3. I have been on 20 cruises & cruisetours to Alaska every month of the summer & have seen from the ship whales, eagles, seals, otters, Bears & on the land tour I have seen evrything but a wolf. In ports of call they have guaranteed  shore excursons to see wildlife.

The biggest thing is you have to be on deck & keep an eye out or someone will spot one & everyone knows. Not all ships have a wildlife guide on them. Sometimes it is just a matter of being in the right place at the right time.

Leaving in 2 days for another 3 week cruisetour there.

    Enjoy.
