When is the best time to send 'Thank You' cards for a wedding?

I think most people usually send them as soon as they can after they get home from their honeymoon.

If you recieve the gift before the wedding, you have 2 weeks.  After the wedding, you have 1 month after your honeymoon.

As soon as you receive the gift, you are supposed to send the thank you card. Our wedding isn't until October and we have received 3 gifts. I have already sent the thank you cards.

send them as soon as possible but remember that wedding ettiquette gives you up to a month to send them out. (that's a month after your honeymoon if you leave right away).

Send them out as soon as possible after you return from your honeymoon, if you take one.  Both of you should write them out, just set aside an hour a night until they are finished, or a couple of hours on a weekend, etc. and make it a priority to get them done.  I have received gifts as much as a year after the wedding and it makes me feel why did I bother with a gift if they couldn't be bothered to send me a thank you sooner.

Right away.  If you wait, life gets in the way and you get busy and then you may forget.  It is best to do it whenever you have time after the wedding/honeymoon.

I moved 4 provinces away 2 weeks after my wedding.  I wrote the thank you cards in the car on the 3 day drive and mailed them out as soon as I got to my destination.

According to etiquette, you have 2 weeks to send thank you cards for any gifts received at showers and before the wedding.  (that's 2 weeks after the gifts arrived).  For gifts brought to the actual wedding, you have one month.

its best to send them right away. I sent mine a month after and i felt bad. M friend, on the other hand still hasnt sent out a single card. and she got married a year ago...her excuse... "i said thankyou at the gift opening"...
