When is the best time to send out invites for a baby shower?

I am interested in knowing at what phase of your pregnancy it is appropriate to:

1. Send out baby shower invitations

2. Have a baby shower

I would love if you can give me answers in months... Thanks!

I WOULD DEFINITELY SEND OUT HE INVITES AT LEAST 3 TO 4 WEEKS IN ADVANCE ESPECIALLY IF YOURE INVITING PEOPLE OUT OF TOWN TO PLAN THE TRIP OUT FOR THE BABY SHOWER, AS FAR AS WHEN TO HAVE THE BABY SHOWER, I WOULD SAYAROUND 5 TO 6 MONTHS BECAUSE I WAS ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE THAT WAITED UNTIL I WAS EIGHT MONTHS, ENDED UP HAVING MY BABY PREMATURE AT 35 WEEKS. MY DAUGHTER WAS BORN 2 WEEKS BEFORE HER BABY SHOWER. I DIDNT GET TO PLAY THOSE FUN GAMES LIKE GUESSING HOPW BIG MY STOMACH WAS WITH TOILET PAPER OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT SO DO IT EARLY!

3 weeks in advance, and the shower at 7 months

I would send out invites 3-4 weeks before the date.  Having your shower around 5 months, gives you enough time to confirm what you still need, and to get ready for baby.

With enough time for your guests to get them two weeks prior.

You do not throw or host your own baby shower.  It's inappropriate and seems as though you are just asking people for gifts.  A friend or family member should do this so they will be the ones sending out the invites.

I prefer baby showers that are held AFTER the baby is born so the baby is there for the guests to see and hold.

Most people I know have had their showers at around 7 months at sent their invites out at 6 months.
