  1. Now follow all prep races i got a good longshot for you colonel john and the horse i partially own wicked style he won the grade 1 breeders futurity

  2. Now is a good time!! Some start watching the 2 year olds in the fall.I am trying to watch as many prep races as I can now.Good luck!!

  3. I start keeping an eye on horses the summer BEFORE the Derby. I put my future stars in my virtual stable so I can keep up to date on what they are doing at any given time. I usually have a favorite by the time Saratoga's summer meet ends, once they all turn 3 January 1, I start narrowing down my choices. Go here to open a virtual stable:http://www.equibase.com/virtual/

Sunday is the Fountain of Youth at Gulfstream Park. The Southwest was run at Oaklawn already, last week saw the Sam F Davis ( prequel to the Tampa Bay Derby). NOW is the time to start if you haven't already!

  4. Right now would be a great time. All the preps are goin off and all the horses are getting ready to run.

Wonderful time of the year :]

Except May is the best. Because you have the Derby and Preakness in the same month on usually beautiful weekends.

    I love Derby Fever :D

  5. Dont they all carry the same weight in the Kentucky Derby.

  6. NOW! The spring is the prime time to handicap. All the big prep races for the Kentucky Derby are in the spring. (Lane's End Stakes, Louisiana Derby, Arkansas Derby, Florida Derby, and Wood Memorial are big ones!) My favorites for the Kentucky Derby are Pyro, War Pass, Blackberry Road, Denis of Cork and Kodiak Kowboy. Another one that I am not so sure about (as in if he can go long distances) is Georgie Boy. If he can stretch out the distance and switch over to regular surface not Polytrack, I would love him. He's my favorite! Another one that I am not so sure about the distance is Sok Sok. He placed fourth in the Stanford with Ready's Image, and then came back to win stakes at Fair Grounds. I really like Steve Asmussen as a trainer for my Derby picks. Also, a newcomer, is David Carroll, with Black Berryroad and Denis of Cork.  For tomorrow's Fountain of Youth, I will go with Court Vision and Halo Najib. GOOD LUCK WITH HANDICAPPING!
