I am from Canada and i was thinking of trying to plan a 4-8 week trip to Europe to see many places such as Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Spain, France, and Holland. I was hoping to do it in Jan or Feb and i was wondering what the weather is like in those places? is it too cold and snowing/raining that it would make it a bad time to travel and see all the great things they have to offer?

  1. It is cold in all of those places except on the Mediterranean coast and the areas near it, and you can also expect rain and snow.  And the Mediterranean is nowhere near beach weather in January or February - just not cold like the rest of Europe.  If you can go at any other time of year, you shouldn't go in January or February.

  2. Damp, cold, drizzly, except on the Mediterranean coasts of Spain, France and Italy. But it's also quieter and more authentic. Can't have everything.

  3. Definitely January. Great deals and bargains....

  4. in the mid to late summer it can get very very humid so i would suggest staying away from that

  5. Hello fellow Canadian, I went back 2 years ago.  The weather there, pretty much mimics the weather here.  Bring an umbrella, and sweaters... I went in august and sept.  cheers
