From about late may till August its beautiful lots of daylight and the weather is better...The winters are brutaly cold and i am not exagerating

May to July. August is unpredictable and from September it can be cold and rainy.

I've been given to believe the best months are May and September... The weather is good, and its shoulder season, so you still might get some good deals if you book well enough in advance. From what I know, the summer months are more crowded and also the prices go up for accommodation, etc.

I'm headed to Scotland this month. So I suppose I could better answer this question when I'm back!

The best weather is in the Spring/Summer, but I prefer to travel in the off season in any country, even my own, as you have to deal with fewer crowds.

any time in the summer, that when the weathers best but still it might be bad, its very unpredictable

august/july is the busiest

If it's good weather you're after, you can chance between May and October, but don't assume it will be sunny the entire time. Ireland and Scotland are famous for having unpredictable weather.
