When is the best time to travel to Vietman?

I would like to visit Vietnam. What season is the best to visit? Any suggestions for cheap flights? I'll be flying out of Chicago, United States.

i like what "they" call winter, sept-nov.. it does rain once in a while but you can still hit the beach, not too crowded, and you dont get "beat down" w summer [may -july] heat [ 85f- 100f+] flying from chicago you should travel west to japan or korea.

I say the best time is around winter, because in the summer fall and spring it gets REALLY HOT! I'm only 11 years old but i've been there when i was 5 and last year, still being in school, i went in the spring/summer and it was burning hot i couldn't take it. but there was this 1 time, i forget how old i was but i went in the winter and the weather was fantastic it was warm or a little chilly but the weather was PERFECT it would be hot but you wouldn't be too hot but it was cold, but not VERY COLD it was just perfect. I recomend going in the winter time :)

Talking about season: fall, winter will be the best.

Talking about lowest prices: After Sep4 till Nov30 and/or right after Chinese New Year till Apr30 every year.

it was from where i live to chicago, then to hong kong, and then ho chi minh, vietnam.

In general, Vietnam is suitable for traveling all year around as in the south of Vietnam - there are two season only (rainy season and sunny season), but in the north, there are 4 seasons (spring, summer, fall, winter), so each season has it's own beauty, specific.

I just got back from there and I loved it. I think you should go in the summer...but if you do go in the summer bring bug spray. Nope, no idea bout cheap flights. I flew from here to Chicago then to Hong Kong then to Ho Chi Minh City. After that I got on a bus and went to Tra Vinh and Tra Cu...they were both really kool places.
