  1. for cheapest, it would be winter, but the weather can really be iffy.  Don't go in summer as it is by far the most expensive.

So, either spring or fall.  I prefer fall.  Look into staying at hostels, at most the have kitchen facilities where you can cook your own food.  (refigerator space is available also.)

  2. In late spring would probably be best. It'll be more expensive in the summer, and cheaper in the winter, of course. But if you go during the winter it's unenjoyable.

  3. just went to an event there called Jam in the Dam (a music fest), and it was the weirdest weather ever.  kinda warm one minute, then literally 10 minutes later it was cool and rainy, then maybe an hour later it flurried, then the clouds broke and it was okay out again.... it was like that the whole time.  this was 2 weeks ago.

i'm not sure about any other time of the year.

  4. Click on the various links and sublinks at this site.  It should help you decide.

  5. You are going to love it. Anytime if you don't mind the cold. There is so much to see...And the red light district is a must see. Just remember don't drink the coffee in that area. We went in the winter time. Didn't like the cold. Go when the weather is nice. Take your time and walk to the museum. Just so much to see there. Have a great time.
