My grandmother has Azalia bushes growing in the front of her house, they are real tall and block the windows. When can I cut those back without killing them?

  1. You should trim the Azaleas right after they finish flowering. If you prune them back very hard, it might take a couple of seasons before they look great again, but the pruning will not kill them.

  2. Trim them back during the fall.

  3. You trim Azalea's after they finish flowering.

  4. Azalea`s bloom next year on this years growth. If you want flowers blooming next spring, you have waited too long this year. Prune next spring immediately after flowering stops. If you don`t care about flowering next spring, then go ahead and prune now, it won`t hurt the plant. As a general rule of thumb, prune flowering shrubs after flowering. Also , it is not a good idea to prune more than 1/3 of the growth at a time.
