  1. Middle of the week.  First flight of the day.  They are often the cheapest and are not full...

  2. Not on weekends or Friday.

Definetely not winter, summer break, and spring break.

And it also depends on where your going. If there's a national holiday in the country where your travelling to, it might be higher

  3. It really depends a lot on where you're going... summer is generally a cheaper time to go to Florida, but the most expensive time of year going to Europe.  (Supply and demand.... people don't want to go to Florida as much during the summer so tickets are cheaper).

In general, though - travel during the middle of the week is cheaper and avoiding holidays, especially Thanksgiving, Christmas, and even 3-day weekends (or leaving early/returning late - for example, if you're traveling at Thanksgiving - avoid going home the Sunday right after, because everyone wants to come home then - going on Saturday or Monday can be significantly cheaper).  Also less convenient times can be cheaper as well.

  4. Usually Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday have the best rates.

  5. Middle of the week is correct. However, sometimes it's a little cheaper if you take a flight that's later in the day. Nowadays most people want early flights out so they can get where they're going at a decent time. This is especially true if you're flying to a time zone that is later than the one you're leaving from.

  6. try booking on the weekdays instead of weekends...it is cheaper

  7. Most routes have "low" and "high" seasons -- times where demand is greater or lesser -- which can affect price greatly.  Which route(s) specifically are you interested in?

  8. Here you will find your answer and you can book your ticket right away with a best price guarantee. If you find a cheaper flight with the same flight dates they will give you the difference back and a 50 dollar gift card.

  9. It depends on where you are traveling. There is no single answer that applies to every destination.

Most of the previous answers assume that you're traveling within the US. If so, then flying on Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday is often cheaper. Avoid major holidays when airlines raise fares due to high demand.

If you're in traveling to Europe, winter is much cheaper than summer. Fall and spring are higher than in winter and cheaper than in summer. If you're traveling to a hot climate, then fares are usually cheaper during the summer and more expensive in the winter. Again, avoid major holidays.
